“A Bridge to Life”
During the last two years all contributions of Wizo San-Francisco/Bay Areaactivities are dedicated to the project “A Bridge to Life”.
“A Bridge to Life“(“Gesher La’Chaym”) project involves soldiers who lived, studied, and graduated the boarding school in the youth village of “Nir-Ha’Emeck” in Afula, Israel. These soldiers have joined the I.D.F even though they have personal difficulties of family support and other problems. The management of “Nir Ha’Emeck” has decided to support these soldiers for another 3 years, during their military service, by providing them with a home, practical, and moral support to help them prepare and build a bridge towards their independent living after their military service. There are two buildings on the village premises dedicated towards the housing of soldiers. One is already operating and housing 16 soldiers. The other one is an old building that needs serious remodeling to be ready to house another 16 soldiers.
